You can check after WvW resets and/or match-ups to see if the population has changed. You could temporarily join a Server that is matched-up with your friends' Server, but, as indicated, that would only be a temporary 'fix'. Welcome to Tyria, and good luck. NA had 24 servers, each server (example Kaineng) is its own existence, and players on that server can only play with others on the same server (PvE). However, you can get a free transfer if you delete all the characters in the account, so if either one of you just started playing it would be a good idea to sacrifice the few hours spent on a character to be able .
